2007 Executive Summary

Dear Friends,

For FolkTime, this was a year filled with success and challenge as we engaged in our mission to provide peer directed socialization support for individuals who live with the daily challenges of mental illness.  In the course of providing these services we have touched the lives of over 600 individuals by creating a caring environment that promotes human dignity, self worth and self-sufficiency.

In 2007, the social and economic setting in which we operate continued its downward trend.  The revenue, once provided by federal, state and county agencies were reduced, shifted or eliminated completely.  Mental health providers, continue to trim services as they struggle with their own revenue obstacles. Yet, the demand for mental health services continues to increase.  Because we are a mission driven corporation we are obligated not only to reaffirm our mission, our vision and our core values for the services we provide.

In 2008, our goal is to expand our strategic direction in order to build a strong development program, collaborate with other agencies and increase our revenues in order to address the endless need of mental health services.  Thus, the board of directors and staff will begin charting a new course for FolkTime to strengthen our programs, provide financial stability and expand our capacity to provide services.

We wish to thank all of you for your support of the FolkTime mission.  Your participation provides hope to the lives of the FolkTime members’.  Your continued support allows us to remain a viable and caring service provider.
