Consumer spotlight

To know Charleen, you have to realize that her favorite color is pink, and that Charleen is the epitome of femininity  and a true lady.  Her friends say she is friendly, loyal and outgoing.

Charleen has been a member of FolkTime since 1987.  She likes to bake and cook, and worked in the FolkTime kitchen for three or four years.  She also likes to go clothes shopping at Lloyd Center and Gateway malls.

She volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House once a week where she puts together gift packets with toiletry items in them.  She also makes cookies for the children and really enjoys the kids, as well as their families.

Charleen celebrated her 60th birthday January 18.  On January 20 her sisters gave her a party in the community room of the building where she lives.  There was good food, and her birthday cake was white and chocolate with strawberry and Bavarian crème filling.  It was decorated with pink roses.  Her fellow volunteers from the Ronald McDonald House attended the party as well as members from FolkTime, friends from her apartment building and her family.  Over 30 people came to the party.  Later, Charleen said she had more friends than she realized.

She is very close to her sisters and gets a lot of support from them and the rest of the family.  She was maid of honor at David and Joan Pyle’s wedding.
