FolkTime Peer Support Specialists are individuals who offer hope and empathy, having experienced similar journeys through life.
What We Do:
Our hallmark program, Free To Be Me, offers a place for individuals to come as they are to give and receive support from those who have "been there". This is not your normal social service, but a co-created environment that fosters hope through community and relationship building. We also gather in Oregon City, Sandy, and online on Zoom.

With the increase in demand for peer support services, FolkTime has worked with several clinical organizations and hospitals to provide trained peer support specialists and supervision. This model allows for peer support specialists to be integrated into clinical systems with maximum effectiveness and appropriate supervision of peers.
In both our Social and Clinical programs, FolkTime offers a wide array of groups that are available to the public. We welcome anyone who identifies as a peer (someone with lived experience of mental health or substance use) and is looking to create community with us.
We can train people to be peer support specialists, to become a trainer or facilitator, and support your organization to embrace the principles and values of peer support
